The Musical Makeover

This post was originally written on Sunday, 18 August 2013.
This project was started to help blind and visually-impaired people to understand the art of makeup and other attire culturally associated with femininity using sound. We use a variety of computer technology and holophonic and holographic algorithms with the most advanced characteristics in the physics of sound and light to date and apply a relationship to science and emotion. One concept we examine is qualia, the state of overall conscience in a human being when exposed to the redness of twilight. Until the transhumanism community finds a way to stimulate the visual cortex, this is all that we currently have to help blind people understand how attractive they really look using sound. Put these in mind. Colour equals tones, and shades and tints are noise. There will be a whole lot more, and current sounds will only show you the patterns of light that will be converted. A completely different algorithm can take the shape of the image and turn it into a soundscape for a blind person to interpret. One question I would want to keep in mind is, how and why do male and female skin contrasts and other characteristics differ? Is it because of hormones, race, etc? Many people use the words ethnicity and race the same way they use the words sex and gender. The former can be compared to race while the latter can be related to ethnicity.
Before we begin, let us start out with the concepts and history of cosmetics. First of all, what is makeup? Makeup is a type of practice that involves the use of pigments that are applied to parts of the body to modify a wavelength of light reflection, apart from the skin’s natural colour, which ranges from dark to light types of ROY. Some of the other options in cosmetology such as hair styles, jewlry, etc may not need a lot of training such as makeup because blind people will be able to feel them. Hair dying is a different matter and may require some training with the Musical Makeover to understand this better.
What is the purpose of makeup and why has it existed? Makeup is a way of modifying a wavelength of light on the surface of the skin or other part of the body to enhance their attractivity to other members. It is like someone shows you a list of harmonic-based music, and you have to choose which one you found most attractive. Science has actually demonstrated that the use of makeup throughout history has aided in gaining more attraction. However, as things advanced, we invented chemicals with pigments in them that were easy to apply and could be put in a variety of different forms and shapes.
Here’s a textbook example of makeup and jewellry and other forms of maximum differentiation. I didn’t learn the real reason high heels were invented, but after doing a little bit of digging, I discovered that they lifted a person’s heels to make it look as though said person was having an orgasm. Likewise, makeup made one look as if someone were constantly flushing. I guess that’s why a lot of double-standards dictate that when a woman is aroused, she can get away with it because there is no visible external signs the way there would be if a man were aroused.
Now, you might be wondering, why do we use music? First of all, let me explain what music is. Music consiss of organised time and sound. But this is not the case with colours. Colour is a pattern of light (a set of frequencies) that can evoke specific emotions and moods. In sound, however, this changes slightly. While we have been able to transpose light frequencies directly to sound frequencies, musical keys of all sorts, including intervals have shown to evoke emotion rather than single-pitched notes such as in the rainbow piano technique. Suppose we could treat this art as we would colour. This means that the musical makeover would only consist of chords that move in random accordance to what was being displayed on the camera or mirror screen. In other words, no rhythm or organised stuff.
Now that you have learned about musical makeover, it is time for us to start spreading the word about this wonderful possibility to concentrate not only on the obvious, but start to see beyond expectations. Below are a list of sources that explain some of the work being done in this field.

Please note: Everything stated in this entry always has exceptions, can be easily contradicted, and I may forget to add something important long after this post has been published. Please remember to let me know if any of these links are broken. In the next post I will cover some of the reasons I am opposed to popular culture such as music. Just to make things clear. I do my best not to let my work consume my life and to throw myself one hundred percent into anything that I am exposed to. Usually I might get so involved for the first few bits of the thing that I am working on before it starts to balance out and something new comes along. I do not fall under the typical blind stereotypes because I want to take in everything life has to offer.

Oblivion in Humankind

This post originally appeared on Sunday, 18 August 2013.
Hello again and welcome to my second post about what I do and how I do things. Today I will be covering some topics that I have explored and wondered. But before I dive into that, let me just give you a reminder that although I generally come up with very wild scientific ideas, I want to keep them all within human boundaries so that I do not pose as a risk to anyone, like erasing someone’s memory or killing someone, etc. Sometimes we just get so obsessed. That is why we work with models first, animals second, and then we finally hold clinical trials. So with that, I will go ahead and start.
So over the last few months I was noticing that our economy was becoming more and more competitive, and I had known this fact for a while now, but I began to research this further. When our country was first founded, it was decided to start off using the philosophy of John Locke, that we all want to abide by the laws of nature. When our financial system was built, it was obvious that we were going to be capitalists. However, this turned out to influence things in the future. Our founders knew that technology would change the future, so we became very flexible. Now, in our modern society, we have people who commit financial crimes and manipulate people just for their money. Now, what is the purpose of money? In scripture, it is stated that one who works will be one to earn a reward. If money did not exist, people would not become motivated to be a full contributer to society. Money and religion has had a history more than government and religion. This is one of the many reasons why we are not keeping up to standards in research. In Europe and other places, they are ahead, especially in things like free healthcare, and better welfare for people who are unable to contribute for one reason or another. So I think we should find a way to balance this out further.
A little more on professionalism: Why is it that we as professionals have low expectations from our clients that we generally have a negative attitude towards others? Because we are afraid of becoming too personally involved with them. One rule of being a doctor is to not get too involved with your patients. However, some professionals are often taken by surprise when they see how successful their clients have been after any form of therapy. It is needless to say that this is just another stereotype that we see in our society that we do not see anywhere else.
Why is it okay for a girl to be a tomboy but not okay for a boy to be a sissy? I read a recent blogue entry on http://broadblogs.com/ that details some of the explanations that men are superior to women, although this has become reversed due to the sexual revolution, and the decrease of repression. Even animals of the nonhuman species have begun to change. Often when a guy does something sissy, the girls would be impressed, but the other guys would tease them. This was early seen in Shakespeare’s time when he wrote about romeo and Juliet. When gals do something that is more of a tomboy, the guys like it, but the other girls feel like they are being shoved aside. If this continued they would react in similar ways when the person becomes questioning or something of that sort. Many of us two-spirit people can dominate in either way because to us it doesn’t matter being which. We are usually considered easy-going in our childhood, conforming to whatever we are asked to do without really thinking about it. I am a blind and hard-of-hearing individual, so I could not really form an opinion on what it was I liked what I saw or things like that. I was raised Catholic, and from what I understand, Catholicism says one must be raised a certain way. Truth is, I could not form an opinion on that either because I was not really involved. But what I found intriguing was the desire, the wanting to console others, the yearning to nurture, the dream-like atmosphere I loved being exposed to, the feeling that I wanted to show off my skills and abilities to others, etc. It helps knowing that every human being has both a masculine and feminine side, although nonbinary people can also have neutral sides as well. I became very intuitive and very perceptive and
enjoyed describing things with gestures and with excellent word diction. Whenever I’d ask my friends to describe a particular sensation, many would say that it would be hard to explain. Two reasons for this is because they don’t have the right word choices or because they are afraid that the other person would not believe them. But I always loved describing things that seemed impossible to describe. One possible reason for a change in roles that we have noticed in two-spirit people is because they feel they are more mentally and emotionally dominant than being physically dominant. They start to realise this and they move to another end of the spectrum. Here is my version of the spectrum. If you can imagine two number lines tacked to a board by two thumb tacks, with a belt running through them, on the bottom one can be one label, like M or F, and the same thing is on the top. Both number lines have numbers from 0 being on the left to 100 being on the right. If you move one of the labels on the spectrum to the right, the other one will move to the left. The same thing will happen if you take the other label and move it to the left, the other will move to the right. This is one of many ways of putting a binary together.
A number of science both hard and soft theories have been proposed and tested. An experiment that I would like to see conducted is to take a male newborn and nurture it the same way a female baby would be nurtured, and vice versa. What I would like to find out if this child development difference will somehow be of impact to a person’s assigned role. Many people believe that parenting has nothing to do with people choosing to become transgender during their childhood, or being nonconforming variant, etc. A science theory states that being transgender might have to do with how much hormone balances they have. As you know, women have a lesser count of testosterone within thirty to forty percent than men have of oestrogen, which would be only five to ten percent. This means that if men were to have higher oestrogen count that matched how much women had of testosterone, their personalities would be altered. This means, better brain hardwiring, more observation, higher intuition, etc that are usually associated with women. The truth is, there are just too huge a number of possibilities. But let’s assume that we had no attire, no roles for males and females. Let us just assume that we had neutral things. A person’s baby personality will usually tell you what kind of a person they may be in life. If a person is born calm and mellow without crying, it is most likely going to be female. This is just one of the many stereotypes that are found. And, when they grew older, their thought patterns can be observed. Next week I will talk about “The Giver”, in which everyone goes into sameness. That might help you understand what I mean.
Now, how and why has the gender binary created? Here is one possible explanation that will be explored once I list the primary and secondary sex characteristics of males and females. I might also list problems with intersex and the castrati.
Men: XY chromosome, testosterone 50+ percent, oestrogen 10- percent, facial hair, body fat distribution to a male appearance, hard skin and prominant veins, Adam’s apple and deep voice and resonance, larger bodies, increased muscle mass, sweat and odour production.
Women: XX chromosome, oestrogen 50+ percent, testosterone 30- percent, no facial hair (some may have higher testosterone count), body fat distribution to female appearance, softer skin and no prominant veins, no Adam’s apple is shown, higher voice and resonance, smaller bodies, less muscle mass, different sweat and odour production than men.
Bearing these characteristics in mind, the binary was created based on finding attire and roles that matched these universal characteristics, after which was prevaled to different places around the world. However, there is the exception where men have naturally feminine characteristics and women have naturally masculine characteristics. It doesn’t matter whether or not the person’s mind is in sync with their bodies. It is possible for a feminine man to act like a man, though he might have to adapt because of his lack in strength, power, etc that is usually associated with machismo. Same thing for women who look like men. Note that genetics in growth and sex hormones can differ as wel. These are the ones we choose to be known as queer. These people were the ones who were crossed. This meant that the men would be the ones who would wear feminine attire and use cosmetology. Some cultures have crossed stereotypes, where men and women have equal proportion to their body characteristics and who have the same morals taught, the same nurturing, etc. This might be why in some places men wear jewlry and stuff like that. These become neuroplasticised into the brain, another thing that science has overlooked. One good example I can think of is how something may feel natural. As you know, due to these characteristics, men and women walk differently, though there are always variants. It is just like being left-handed–you are born with it. But what if the infant was blind. How would they learn to walk? You would have to programme that into their brain.
One reason we are starting to see more and more campaigns here in the Western world is because our cultures and societies have begun to be very extreme, physically and otherwise. Everyone feels like they want to be better than everyone else instead of being at their best for themselves. We have campaigns about what words we want to put an end to, how to make them sound less hurtful, etc. The concept of freedom of speech has been interpreted as being able to say whatever you like. But now we are starting to find out that using abusive speech is like libel and slander. So what if freedom of speech became more of a will to say whatever you wanted to say without humiliating anyone? Suppose Congress started to look at these campaigns and said, what if we rewrote or amended the constitution about why these changes are occurring? Many people who are pessimistic simply say, it’s life and you should deal with it. Those of us who are optimistic and who are in the realm of what life was originally meant to be are the ones to be the changers, the revolutionists and humanists, etc. We do not follow the leaders, we do not go on impulse. The truth is, why has this even begun? Why could we not teach future children the proper way to use such things? Rudeness is something that we as humans understand from right and wrong. Rudeness calls for many sayings, gestures, etc, which anyone can do, but it will require the interpretation of another human to know what that means before it is considered to be rude. As a two-spirit, we are often sought for advice on how to improve monogamy among young people. This is because we are greatly valued since we have a leg in both worlds. In our world, marriages and relationships are often led by women, are ended by women, etc. Men are usually the ones to be given the silent treatment and are the ones who don’t figure them out. Two-spirits are the ones who hardly ever fail relationships. The truth is that women, since they seem to be the leaders, want men to be more like them, which many find very dissonant.
Now, let us continue with some of the traits found in male and female species. Has anyone really studied these around the world? I will be posting a few sources to back up my statement. How does desires in sexual activity, courtship, pair-bonding, afection, etc differ in males and females, in terms of the binary? Something we noticed was that desire in humans branched between what the mind said versus what their bodies said. In recent studies, science has seen that females were the leaders in attractivity to get males to turn on their reproductive systems and so that females can release pleasure found within the pleasure centre of the brain. This is where Oestrogen got its root word Estro. But let us suppose we could transmit this sensation from a female brain and send it to an MtoF brain. What would they learn from that transmission? Same thing with male brains sending their pleasure sensation to FtoM’s. One of the studies that was being worked on was by Daniel Bergner, along with a few other sources I was able to collect data and test them on suspected individuals. In a nutshell, men and women’s brains are wired differently. Women tend to be more intuitive, multitasking, etc. Men can only do one thing at a time, and are not really aware of emotions. Plus, they cannot be sissy because it gives them a lot of dissonance, not the case with women being tomboys. This is why men easily get irritated when asked of such. Also, a new study is being proposed to change the balance of hormones by doing some gene therapy to see if we can turn a completely masculine or feminine brain, and the new genes would increase the connections and physically rewire the brain and modify the person’s body for men, while in women, their brains would grow and lose connections. This might be useful to replace current procedures found in hormone replacement therapy. Why should we use synthetic hormones when we could use the body as the host? This person would then be able to tell us if they have a feeling of newly-awakened desires or more awareness. But one thing that I was wondering, is it possible to genetically engineer an adul than it is to design a baby? It all comes down to mitosis and meiosis. Our bodies are constantly being replaced every seven or ten years. So, I am sure it can be done in adults.
In our English language, men and women speak in very different ways. Same thing with perception, integration, and interaction (I/O.) I am not sure if this is innate or if they learn it through developmental observation. Some people, like myself who have perfect pitch can pick up on this and make that distinction. It is suggested that people’s rewired brain within the central and peripheral nervous system traits are passed onto their offspring, which means that future people might be programmed with natural and unatural interactions. A show that I was inspired can be found at the following url: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/sunketempletrust/2013/06/25/the-two-spirits-connection-with-the-sacred-tree-of-life
Another characteristic that was introduced into the gender binary was that people with feminine characteristics were the ones to be more colourful, more ornate, etc than those with masculine appearances. If you think of this in terms of music, masculine music is very bold and stern while feminine music is soft and dream-like. Neutral things have either a combination of the two, or no combination at all.
And finally, I would like to find out if having any disability such as blindness, hearing impairment, or any physical and mental disability, etc will influence a person’s soma and psyche in the long run. Blind people are one exception. They are described to have higher intuition than either men or women combined, so they could be a different gender entirely. I am not sure how men and women’s visual field differ, but it is said that the latter tend to have wider fields of view than the former. This might be as a result from a hunting and gathering trait passed down from ancient times.

All research materials provided in this publication are to raise awareness to families, friends, educators, etc. The above material is a stepping stone for an introduction of new batteries for suspected people to undergo in the future. We should not focus so much on the obvious, but instead think about the possibilities. Commitment: If a volunteer chooses to partake of the research, they are encouraged to remain within communication. We are not learning much from them because they often withdraw and do not come back.

Introduction

This post was originally written on Sunday, 11 August 2013.
Hello, and welcome to Sensation Experience. In this post I will guide you through an overview of what you might expect to find. Let’s start by building a mental image. If you can imagine a person willing to learn a little of everything each day (omniscient), that would be me. If you can also picture someone who is determined to make something happen, you will also have me. If you imagine someone wanting to know why and how something works the way it does, getting down to the minute detail and experiencing that change first-hand, you will also have me. I am considered to be very sensational, intuitive, observant, etc with all of my five senses including senses that branch out, like proprioception. However, I am blind and hard-of-hearing, but I learn how to rewire my brain to accommodate new sensory input. I am a synaesthete, which will be covered in future posts in the paranormal and supernatural section.
I spend my spare time when I am not busy researching and reading to educate myself on diversity issues, ableism and stigma, history interpretation both self and other, though human nature is primarily the former, and social justice through the use of song. I partake of several communities, including medical science, GLBTQIA, H+ and more. I have a diary so that I can have something to read when I am bored, or write in it for that same reason. Apart from my work, I spend time reading and or writing music Braille and working with technology at an advance level, though it is not my forte. I don’t care much for brogrammer or geek culture. I love reading books of non-exaggerated fiction, and I will list the authors and my thoughts in a future post. I play a variety of Western art musical instruments, which includes the flute, clarinet and trumpet. I have a passion for playing and listening to various kinds of pneumatic-powered pipe and reed organs, and I enjoy playing anything that does not rely on electrical components.. For example, the guitar, drums, keyboard, or synthesisers, etc, you know, like found in popular culture. Although I have been relenting on this in recent years, I learned that Wendy Carlos had used electronic music to make renditions of famous composers. This is something I definitely admire. I will post my music history summary in a future entry as well.
I was inspired to start spreading the sensation experience attitude after I acquired knowledge through those experiences and wish to help others perceive that same wisdom through use of transhuman technology. I was once afraid of riding amusement rides that had inversions, but thanks to NASA, I learned something totally new, and now I am willing to spread the thrills of being an amusement ride enthusiast.
Has there ever been a time when you were freaked out when you met someone who was different than you were, like when you met someone who used an artificial voice to talk because they had a laryngectomy? Well, thanks to science, you can overcome that fear by learning all you can and how you can do it yourself. I will cover more of this in future posts. Also, wouldn’t be nice if we could perceive others who are unable to express themselves to us? Think about the autistic brain or the pre-lingually deaf and deaf-blind brain. Many of us are made fun of because we cannot tell others what we perceive, feel, think or how we interact with our environment because they say it is hard to explain. In my opinion, nothing is hard to explain. All you need is the right word choice and precision of language. What if we could use technology to veer into the other person’s world and really feel what they feel so we can better take care of our children? We, as caregivers, providers and support workers, tend to focus so much on the obvious that other things elude us that we may not even realise as a possibility. We could also use this technology to perceive another gender and or sex. We often wonder, what causes transgenderism or intersexuality? I am looking at research with marine biology and how this can be correlated with human evolution and biological defects. There is way too much to consider other than the psychological induction that may make one a transgender, but the fact that I am a nonconformist is enough to convince me that there is something involving neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to rewire itself. I will dive more into that in a later entry.
My devotion to the GLBTQIA community is to help young people to work out their differences to establish longer relationships and to find new improvements for transsexuals and their ability to reproduce. This is where I look at H+ for ideas on where we can go for further progress. We try not to focus too much on the medical model and or the professionalism attitude, but instead use characteristics practised in the Eastern part of the world. There are many people out there who feel that our society is becoming more and more inhuman or dystopian, but are afraid to step up because they do not want to be seen being made fun of by others. And, that is what makes humanity occur in the first place, and it is all because of how we hardwire ourselves throughout our entire lives. We all have the freedom of who and what to be, for life is always full of choices. However, each choice will have a consequence that will lead to further decisions. This keeps on going until the person realises who they really are, and then they make more choices and that will result in further reactions. At this point I would like to introduce two causes I would like to have my readers support.
Help prevent the M-Word by Spreading the Word: http://www.the-m-word.net/
When reading my posts, please keep in mind that everything I say always has exceptions, can be contradicted, and I may forget to include something important long after I publish something, so do not think I did not include it, it is just that I did not remember it at the time. Everything I say is based on my personal opinion and not affiliated with any profession. Also, it is nearly impossible to convey a message that can be branched into their respected categories. Life is like a giant tree with millions of branches, all connected in one way or another.
All the words in an any language in the world cannot convey the true feeling of a sensory experience. Questions? Comments? Post them here. I look forward to your feedback!

The Ups and Downs of The Entertainment Industry

You’re probably wondering why I’m writing a piece about the ups and downs of the entertainment industry if I’m not even in it. Well That’s precisely the reason why. I’m an aspiring singer and author trying to make it. I used to think there was some sort of shame to tell people that I don’t have a job but that I wanted to make music my job. I don’t think of music as a job, I think of it as a passion and something I enjoy. It’d be awesome to make really big time money, but at the end of the day there’s just something about singing that I really love. It takes all of my stresses away. I can’t imagine what else I could do besides music. It’s all I think about, all I eat, sleep, dream and breathe about. I think you can say that about anyone who wishes to do anything in the arts. There are those who get it and those who sadly don’t. I used to think that you needed to be an artist to really understand and appreciate all the time and work that goes into it. I guess I stand corrected. You don’t have to be in the arts to get an artist, you just simply have to be someone who loves creativity. Some people take it as a form of inspiration and would say ‘Wow, that’s amazing that you have those goals’! A majority of the time that’s the response I get. Other times I get more negative responses and they usually come from people who are stuck up. Those people tend to idolize prefab and prepackaged and manufactured so-called talents who really only got as famous as they are because of who they know, rather than any real genuine talent that will actually be remembered in years to come.

Those people don’t get art. They are not artists, they are not imaginative, revolutionary, inventive or innovative. Those people are just crowd pleasers. They conform to what society tells them to do. They also tend to have really big egos. If you’re not a pretty boy with a look that markets to a fickle audience they want nothing to do with you. They don’t care about the time it really takes to really actually master and perfect your voice or any musical skills you may have. What really anoys me is that these egotists are the very people that decide whether or not you even get heard on the radio. That’s why I don’t really listen to the radio all that much anymore. Come to think of it, I haven’t heard the radio in at least 6 months with the exception of when I’m in a lyft or taxi and need something to pass the time until I get to my destination. I turn to other avenues for musical entertainment, mostly youtube and the like. I guess perhaps one of the worst anoyances I could face and do quite often seem to face is people that are out to prey on the hopes and dreams of those of us who are really trying to make it.

I’m sure you’ve heard it all. You have some guy who probably lives at home in his mum’s basement and claims he owns and operates a recording studio or record label, and he promises he can turn you into a bigger star than anyone that’s currently out on the radio right now. All you have to do is send them some money and they’ll make it happen. The amounts usually start small, but before long they add up and the next thing you know, you’re evicted from your place because your bank account is so in the negative that you’ll never be able to pay your rent. I’ve been there and it wasn’t fun. I’m not usually one who gets lucky, but when it came to getting that money back… well I’m still recovering from that. The consequences are that I will never trust anyone ever again. I’m going to make them do backflips and cartwheels and circus acts times a thousand before they ever earn my trust, either that or they’ll end up dead of a heart attack or stroke before I ever decide to trust anyone, which I probably still won’t. That’s just the way life goes sometimes. Sometimes you get people who are forgiving and they’ll give you second chances, but I’m not one of those people. If you lie and steal from me, you get no second chance. When you’ve been lied to and really taken advantage of, as I have when I was scammed out of a couple of thousand dollars and almost lost my home, you really have no choice. Maybe next time you’ll think twice before you question why it is that someone who’s not yet made it in the entertainment industry is talking about the pitfalls of it. Believe me, I know more than you think. Anyway, I guess it’s back to the drawing board.

As I continue trying to recover from the financial blunder, and trust me, 6 grand might seem small to you, but it’s like a million bucks to me. I’ve always lived a frugal life. In fact even if I were to actually come into huge amounts of wealth I would still live frugally. You probably don’t believe me, all I can say is just you wait and see. I’m the kind of person who says what they mean and mean what they say. So as all of this is going on, it’s back to trying to find gigs and doing some auditions. One of those auditions was for a choir. I made it into the choir as a tenor. The only thing is I’ve not gone to any of the rehearsals. I’ve loads of insecurities with myself. It was a long time since I’d been in any sort of choir. The last time I was in a choir was back in high school and I absolutely hated everything about it, from the choir teacher who tried to basically categorize what my voice type was as if she knew my strengths more than my own self, down to the fact that she made it very obvious she never really liked me. This was because she taught piano as well, and I did everything by ear since I didn’t know how to read sheet music. And of course she didn’t like it, she yelled at me and told me I would never make it as a singer because blind people will never make it in the music industry. How are you supposed to read braille sheet music with one hand and play piano with two hands? Last time I checked, humans only had two hands, not three! Anyway, so the choir director at this last audition I went to was really sweet, as was everyone else in the choir. But ultimately it was past traumas of being in music classes in high school, as well as those insecurities resulting from those negative experiences that seem to keep me from going to rehearsals. I guess I’m going to need some massive therapeutic intervention or something. Maybe I need shock therapy. Maybe I’ll need hypnosis, maybe I need to see a doctor. But not just any doctor, a doctor that really knows how to treat trauma. If you know of any, give me a call and let’s talk. That’s all I have so far, but I’m pretty sure I’ll think of plenty more things to write about soon so keep it locked here.

Publishing Content In The Newspaper Without Your Permission

I called a friend up on the phone and both he and I were talking about trauma. One of the things that I brought up was the fact that often times people do certain things to us and they don’t care about how it makes us feel. One of my biggest sore spots is people’s complete disregard for the right to privacy. As someone who is apart of the LGBT community, issues like this come up very frequently. As LGBT people, we’ve come a long way in history. For some despicable reason that for the life of me I will never comprehend, LGBT people have been met with violence, disownment and murder. Yes I said it, murder. Look up the case of Matthew Shepard. He was murdered in 1999 just for being gay. That shouldn’t have happened and thank God we got the government involved to insure that LGBT people have equal protections under the law. Now I know what you’re thinking, why did the government have to get involved for changes to happen? Why did we have to take marriage equality to the highest courts of this land when it didn’t need to go that far? You’re absolutely right, it didn’t have to go that far, but we had no choice because for too long, we were treated and thought of as second class citizens. We tried playing nice but the states wouldn’t listen, so we took it to the next level.

If states wouldn’t listen to us, the courts will, and they did. Because of our tireless efforts to fight for equality, we now are allowed to marry. How cool is that! But the fight’s not over, as there’s still quite a bit of work to do. Even though we’ve come a long way from where we used to be, there’s still the matter of the right to privacy. Everyone in this country deserves the right to privacy as it’s written in the constitution, at least it should be anyways. If it’s not yet written in the constitution then it needs to be! Let’s say for example you get abused at school. You’re bullied relentlessly by students and teachers because of your disability. On top of that, you’re LGBT. Being LgBT is one thing, but add a disability on top of that and you’ve a whole new can of worms. It’s graduation day but you don’t go to the ceremony. Why would you go to a ceremony to be in a stadium of a whole bunch of people who’ve bullied you? Since you’ve chosen not to go to the ceremony, you either elect to pick up the diploma or have it mailed to you. Unbeknownst to you, you find out that your name was published in the local newspaper and you didn’t give permission for it. You call or email your local newspaper and ask for your name to be removed from the publication, and they say no because it’s already been moved to the archives. What do you do? What can you do as someone who not only didn’t give consent to have their name published and it happened anyway, then when you ask politely for the newspaper to edit your name out of it, they tell you that even if you didn’t give permission to be published they can do whatever they want? That is a violation of privacy!

Let’s talk about name changes. In the United States you’re allowed to change your name to whatever you want for any reason, unless of course it’s not to evade law enforcement or a debt, or to cause confusion or to commit a crime or fraud. Depending on the crime you’ve committed you might not be allowed to change your name, and if the court suspects that you’re changing your name to commit fraud or to avoid law enforcement your petition will be denied. But what if you’re just an average innocent person? What if you’re LGBT or have been a victim of abuse and harassment? What if you want a fresh start in life to be the you that you knew you were always meant to be? I guess you could go about it in a few different ways depending on how hard you’re willing to work. You gotta fight for your dreams and fight for your rights and you also have to fight for your identity. If you’re in a radically conservative part of the country, your first step would probably be to move out of that state and go some place more liberal where it’s guaranteed that nobody knows your name. You’re starting from scratch. No one knows you from a hole in the wall, you get the picture. Think of all of the imigrants that come to America or the UK from their original life of poverty and struggle. It’s pretty much the same concept, you want a brand new start with a brand new life and a brand new you. In most states, changing your name is a pretty straight forward process, but in many states you are required to publish your intent to change your name in the newspaper. In Oregon and Washington State you’re not required to publish your name in the paper, but it is still public record as you’re required to post it on the courthouse bulletin board. There’s probably a way to get around it by filling out a motion. If you are LGBT, particularly transgender, it might specifically be in your best interest to keep it confidential especially if you’ve been the victim of abuse, or you’re in fear of being harassed.

It’s been my experience that whenever I’ve dealt with the courts particularly in Colorado, they’ve been quite friendly to me. Colorado is a liberal state and they tend to be compassionate when it comes to abuse victims and LGBT people. In Colorado and other states, you are required to publish your intent to change your name in the newspaper. This is put into place so that criminals can’t simply run off without paying debts that they’ve made under their previous names. Since that didn’t apply to me, I was granted a name change without having to publicize it. I still had to swear under oath that I wasn’t changing my name to avoid debts or to commit a crime, and of course I was honest when I said that I had no malicious intent by it, and the judge promptly granted my request and even sealed the entire case so it could never be accessed again. In the case of a school graduation publication, I believe that publication should only be done if permission is granted by the student. If not granted, then the student’s name shall not appear. If it still appears and the student wants their name removed, then the newspaper must oblige. If the newspaper refuses, then legal action must be taken. This is about a person’s right to privacy and a right to safety. My right to be safe and my right to privacy is more important than freedom of the press.

My IT Adventures

Hello,
I’m back on WordPress, and yes, it’s running independently now than it was the last time I was hosting it. Here’s what I learned thus far.
When it comes to information technology, especially since it is such a broad field, there are a lot of names for these different types of situations that derive from umbrella terms, and many of them can become interchangeable. It is therefore important to pay attention to what name you use as it can stand for something entirely different than what you had originally intended. For future reference, any given area in which things can be infinite, or have a large number of possibilities, it is also important to start at the beginning, and to build the foundations using what you already know to make new concepts. When the sender fails to do so, it would leave the receiver befuddled, and they will therefore be unable to comprehend. To break the tension between sender and receiver, a mutual agreement must be made by knowing what the best learning method the receiver uses while the best teaching method is made by the sender. If information technology is something that a person is truly passionate about for one reason or another, they would have a better chance of succeeding than those who do not have that passion. However, let us also be careful about how we stick to our role to this area, as it can make us more close-minded to other situations, so finding the key balance to success will guarantee that you will strive. I would also add that there are groups of people who may choose to learn about information technology and computer science for one reason or another depending on what needs are to be met, such as running a basic web site to managing a commercial business. So, whether you are a neophyte or a pro-expert, please sit back and enjoy the read.
Normally, a server is comprised of a hard drive or solid state drive, or a multitude of these hooked up to a series of network cards and their internet service provider, and these can be accessed by computers authorised to do so. They might also have raid controllers and redundant power supplies. For instance, companies such as the cloud and Dropbox have warehouses or data centres where they have a ton of hard drives or solid state drives, each one doing its own service to each user.
To save energy and disc space, the module or control unit, which connects to the drive, can be managed to shut off your server. To maintain your service, companies can charge you for obvious reasons, while others may annoy you with ads. This of course means that the only way to get rid of them would be to give them what they want so they can stop bugging you all the time.
A physical server, which can be anything from a small Raspberry Pi to a large machine can be used in a small business setting that have enough resources available, and they can employ a number of hardware that will manage networks and other needs. But for simplicity reasons it is better to stick with a virtual server, or virtual private server (VPS) as they are called. You can do anything with a VPS that you can do with a physical one, including having your own virtual private network (VPN), your own internet radio streaming service (icecast or Shoutcast) or install your content management system such as a word press blog or site, or another one such as Grupal or Joomla. You are paying someone else to host a virtual machine for you on a physical server. You can do any additional tasks like run TeamTalk and file transfer protocol servers to manage your files on the machine using an FTP client. Servers can be accessed by a number of ways and protocols, though the most common is via an IP address, or domain name system. The additional addresses like subnetting, MAC, and stuff are used by identifiers and other cyber-protocol features, kind of like the statistics of a telephone call for security reasons. There are two types of IP addresses. IPV4, which only has numbers, and IPV6 which has both letters and numbers. Your server may have a gateway IP address that exists to communicate with other computers on the network.
Of course, IP addresses are not always easy to remember, so you will have to find a few ways to make it easier. The first way to do this is to set up something called a domain that is classified into three levels. The first level is where you have the .com, .net, .org, etc. The second-level domain is the name of the web site, like example, or mydomain. The third level domain are things like www, or another name that leads to a different part of your site. These are called subdomains. Finally, the protocol type. They can range from hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) and HTTPS (secured connection using port 443 instead of 80), FTP (port 21), Mailto (application), Callto (application), and many others that either open applications or use a particular port number. How you set these up is important to get the results you want. In today’s world, you can enter a simple domain without entering the http in a browser, since we assume that you will be using the default protocol for that application. In general, a web page will load faster if you type a slash at the end of an address, because this will tell the server to locate the document root folder, and to open up the main screen, whatever that is. Configuring what your main screen will be discussed at some other time.
Now that you understand what is available, let
us find out how these domains are able to track down your particular server, albeit physical or virtual. So as I said there are a few ways that you can get to your server instead of using an IP address, which is hard to remember. The first would be to set up a simple domain that uses something called a domain name system. It is uniquely configured to point to your server’s IP address, or this can be be set to redirect to another domain. This can be changed in your DNS manager’s dashboard or domain registrar, if you have not yet changed your nameserver. This would save you a lot of time from having to scrounge around to find what you need, but as you gain more experience you might want to start thinking of other options. The thing to remember is that there are several types of DNS records. An A record points to your IP address. A CNAME record uses a subdomain to redirect you to another server. An MX or mail exchange record is used to pass e-mail from one transfer agent to another. Text (TXT) records are used to verify your identity so mails that you sent do not end up in the recipient’s spam folder.
Other DNS managers, like Google Web Masters, and registrars that host your domain, require constant communication to send information from one to the other. To do this, you would use a TXT record, which is a string of complicated letters, numbers and punctuations that serves as a digital fingerprint to prove that you are the owner of the website, and that you own the server as well. Take into account of the achronym ‘I-CAN’. It stands for ‘International Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers. They are responsible for assigning you your particular address, and they also have rules and regulations as to what your web domain can be called. The term domain registrar is the company that actually hosts your domain, but you do not always have to use your registrar’s DNS manager. Sites like Go Daddy or Hover are an example of a domain hosting registrar because you can set up your domain with them and then have that address redirect to wherever it is you want it to go to by using the record types mentioned above. A name server may have the address dns1.domain.com or dns2.domain.com. Sites like cloudflare need you to change your name servers so you can have traffic go through them instead of the default domain name server. You can look up all of this information by going to http://www.who.is and http://www.whatsmydns.net. This deepening area will require more patience and better analogous concepts for you to grasp. For first-time users, it is better to set up some records on Cloudflare without protection. They reroute your IP address so that if you tried to get the IP address of a domain, you would only end up with a Cloudflare IP, rather than your server’s IP. If you put this into your browser, you would see a message saying that direct IP access is not allowed.
In many systems, particularly Linux systems, hosting can be achieved by using the default document root directory, which is /var/www, or /var/www/html. Or, you might choose to change this so that you will have a directory called my-site. It would be in either /var/www/my-site or /var/www/html/my-site. Inside that folder, you will need to create another directory called public_html. These are called virtual hosts, which you can learn more by doing a few searches. All operating systems have a hosts or hostname file you can edit. It uses these files to refer to themselves or automatically locate another server on the internet. For instance, if you knew that your domain, my-example.com leads to 123.456.78.9, then you can add this to your hosts file and flush the DNS cache. So when you type that domain in, rather than go to your resolving server or an authoritative server, your computer will already know the answer because you provided it. Your web server will get a request from my-example.com, not from 123.456.78.9 As such, your web server will know that it needs to look up the virtual host matching the request of the domain name. That is why it is possible to have a few sites hosted with different names that are all sharing the same IP address. You can further manage this using a web -based control panel that you can install yourself, such as C-Panel or ISP-Config, which come with their own DNS manager.
By default, when you put a slash, followed by a name, you are telling the web server to locate a directory inside the document root folder. This does not always have to be the case. You can add aliases and subdomain aliases. These are simply lines of code that you can add so that, if you want your clients to go to my-example.com/webmail, it will load a web e-mail client such as Squirrelmail, even though there is no directory called squirrelmail in the document root folder. Or, you might decide to run it as a subdomain alias, so you would write webmail.my-example.com. You can find a whole lot mmore about these types of configurations on the internet, or you can simply try and ask the right people.
The last part is the digital certificate and basic server instructions. If you go to a web site using the secured protocol port 443, and it does not have a verified certificate, you will be prevented access from seeing that web site. To correct this problem, remove the S from the HTTP and try again. Setting up a certificate requires more skill, and it depends on the web server, database server, and PHP programme you are using on the operating system of that server. The problem is, there are programmes that can intercept traffic from a computer to a server. When you send a credit card number via a form, it has to travel a long distance to get to the web server. Who knows who might be receiving your information in between point A and point B. If you were to send that information through regular HTTP, everything would come up as clear text. By utilising something simple as secure socket layer or transport layer security, you can encode the text in a wrapper that will be extremely difficult for a hacker to decode. Fun fact: The closer you live to a server being hosted for you, the faster pings you will receive. If you play a multi-player on-line game that is being hosted on the other side of the world, you would get longer pings unless you had super high-speed gigabit internet or if you lived relatively close to the server.
The majority of the web is hosted by Unix and Unix-like operating systems, and as such they require an SSH port 22 connection in the form of ssh [email protected] or IP address. When using domain, your operating system has to resolve it, but it will obtain the IP address just the same. There are clients for Windows, such as SecureCRT, which supports multiple protocols. There is also a good secure file transfer protocol client called Win SCP, which works well with PuTTY, which makes an excellent combination to manage your server, since they all have SFTP access. Or, you can install Scoop and Open SSH on Windows Power Shell. Of course, in Mac and other Unix-like system, you do not need to install any additional clients to access another system using Unix. Windows virtual private servers are more expensive, but they require a remote desktop connection for you to use.
How DNS resolution works is a little bit complicated, but in a nutshell, your operating system connects to your external IP address of your internet service provider. Using that, it will locate the top level domain. A search is then conducted using a name server until an answer is found. Authoritative servers are always up to date. Resolving servers need to look up the answers to a DNS request. The most important thing is that you should get from point A to point B in as few steps as possible by knowing exactly what you want to do and how you want to do it.
There are FOUR major types of hosting. Shared hosting only limits you to using C-Panel or some other web interface administration tool, and you only get ftp ACCESS WITH File Zilla or Win SCP to transfer files. You cannot control your server the way you would if you were using the SSD, Cloud, or dedicated VPS with a provider like Linode, VPS-dot-net, Digital Ocean, Vultr, OVH, 100TB, among many others. I personally prefer to host my own server so I can have full control of it and do anything I want. The third type of hosting uses a true cloud environment, with lots of redundancies. In the fourth type of hosting, you are solely responsible for building the server from the ground up. That is called a dedicated server. It is only recommended that computer experts choose this type of hosting. It is also a lot more expensive to host because you are all alone.
Shared hosting is like sharing a flat or apartment with other tenants. If you clog up your toilet, it will clog up the entire plumbing system for the rest of the tenants. Therefore, maintenance will have to come over to fix your problem. Take that analogy to uploading a slow-running script. If your site visitor activates the script that causes a heavy load on the RAM, it will slow down all of the other web sites stored on that machine.
VPS (SSD) hosting. This is a little more like sharing a mobile home park or small neighbourhood. You have your own home and everything, and most of the resources are allocated to you. A VPS is like a physical machine in a data centre with lots of virtual machines, each with a different IP address which people can access remotely on a solid state drive. The only disadvantage is that if the power goes out, everyone will lose access to it. Think of an entire neighbourhood losing power because a transformer blew up. If you upload a slow-running script to an SSD VPS, there is a lesser chance that it could slow down the machine, since it is using some virtual RAM. The thing to remember is that SSD VPS is still considered shared, but you get the best of both worlds in that you each have your own machines.
VPS (Cloud) is a little bit like SSD, except that if the physical machine loses power, the virtual machine is automatically migrated to another physical machine. So think of the neighbourhood example. If one of the transformers break, the system will automatically connect you to another functioning transformer so you can continue to use electricity.
Dedicated Server is where you are all alone. That is like buying a property in a rural area and you need to hire contractors, or build your own house, and connect your own plumbing, gas, electricity, cable, internet, and telephone lines, or build your own power plant. If you had the space and the resources, you could build a computer and have it act as a dedicated server.
There is one more type of hosting, called managed hosting. this is more for hosting providers who dedicate their time to helping people host content management systems, such as WordPress. It is like renting an office in a building, such as using the World Trade Centre facilities to conduct your business.
Dropbox is a free service that can allow you to upload and share folders. I heard that there are some competitors that are better than Dropbox, and unfortunately we will always have that going on, but once a person sticks to something, it is hard to make them change their mind.
The above material is just a starting point to get anyone interested. Since I am not a fan of information technology myself, I try to find other ways of making sense of it all by simplifying what can be simplified, so as to avoid using IT gibberish in the event that one may not be able to understand what you are trying to convey. As always feel free to give suggestions and comments.

Hello, everyone!

Thanks to Kevin Roberts for showing me how to get started with Linux. We had a heck of a hard time setting up everything, but I have a feeling things are working the way they should.
